Terms & Conditions
The plain-English terms that govern using this website and working with J.Sites on a project. They're written to be fair to both of us — not to bury anything in fine print.
Last updated: June 2026
01Who we are
This website is owned and operated by J.Sites, a South African web design and development business run by Janco Engel (“J.Sites”, “we”, “us”, “our”). In line with section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002, you can reach us at:
- email: info@jsites.co.za
- phone: +27 72 597 6626
By using this website or engaging us for a project, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site or our services.
02Our services & the free demo
We design and build custom websites — handled personally, by hand, with one new client taken on roughly every two weeks. We also offer a free demo: a real, working preview of what your site could look like, built before you commit to anything.
The free demo is provided at no cost and places you under no obligation to proceed. Until a quote is accepted in writing (including by email or WhatsApp), no contract for a paid project exists between us, and any demo, mock-up, or preview remains our property.
03Quotes, pricing & payment
All prices are quoted and payable in South African Rand (ZAR). A written quote is valid for 30 days from the date we send it, unless we state otherwise. Prices may change after that period or if the scope of the work changes.
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, projects are invoiced with a deposit before work begins and the balance on completion. Specific payment milestones, amounts, and timelines are confirmed in your individual quote or agreement. Work may pause if an invoice remains unpaid past its due date.
04Delivery & your responsibilities
We give every project our full attention and aim to deliver within the timeframe agreed for your build. Realistic timelines depend on you too: to keep things moving, you agree to supply content (text, images, logos, access, and similar) and feedback promptly.
Where a deadline is involved, we generally ask for at least five working days' lead time. Delays in receiving content, feedback, or approvals will extend delivery dates accordingly, and we're not responsible for missed timelines caused by such delays.
05Revisions & cancellation
The number of revision rounds included in your project is set out in your quote. Work beyond that scope may be quoted separately.
You may cancel a project at any time in writing. If you do, deposits already paid are non-refundable to the extent that work has already been carried out, and any work completed up to the cancellation date remains payable. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
06Intellectual property
Once a project has been paid for in full, ownership of the final website and its bespoke design and content transfers to you. Until full payment is received, all work remains the property of J.Sites.
Third-party components, fonts, libraries, and stock assets remain subject to their own licences. Unless you ask us in writing not to, we may showcase the work we've done for you — including screenshots and a link — in our portfolio and marketing.
07Third-party services
Your website may rely on third-party services such as hosting (for example Vercel), domain registrars, content management systems, payment providers, and similar tools. These are governed by their own terms and pricing, and we're not responsible for their availability, performance, or changes to their services.
08Warranties & limitation of liability
We take pride in building fast, reliable, standards-based websites. That said, we can't guarantee that any website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security incidents, or that it will achieve a particular ranking, traffic, or business result.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, J.Sites will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss (including loss of profit, data, or business) arising from this website or our services. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
09Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute arising from them or from our services is subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
10Changes & contact
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives on this page, with the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Questions about these terms? Email info@jsites.co.za or call +27 72 597 6626.
These terms are a general agreement for a small South African web studio and are not legal advice. For your specific situation, consider getting independent legal advice.
